happy halloween. turning out the lights and pretending you are not home? ... I hope your house gets egged.  New York Times put out a brilliant article about candy being misunderstood. candy is not evil or manipulative... it's never pretended to be healthy it is pure pleasure no tricks just treats.

mean girl's explained that "in girl world, halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it." While this may be true for teeny boppers, I don't see 0ctober 31st as an excuse for anything but fake blood, if I can look hot and be covered in blood- great success.  In halloween and the sexualization of girls, the 'sexy' lumberjack costumes are explained as being defended as a 'perverse appropriation of girl power'. do what makes you happy, a cute nurse is much more visually appealing than a corpse bride, but what fun is that?

my favourite holliday of the year! candy apples, pumpkins burning, candle light and creepy music. witches and goblins running a muck. might even dress a little cute this year... blood and guts still incorporated, obviously. what will you be?

it's october! how wonderful is that? fall, crunchy leaves, warm drinks and best of all my favourite holliday EVER halloween! get ready for a lot of spooky scary.
